Lea Michele redeems herself with her 3rd solo track and the only non-britney track on lastweek episode of glee with "PARAMORE THE ONLY EXCEPTION" Her voice sound fantastic on this rock ballad. She shows vocal vulnebility, which allow the audience to connect emotionaly with the song as well as her character
We've known from day 1 that RACHEL controlling, and after the disastrous ultimatum, trying to get FINN to quit the football team when he just rejoined she tempt him with QUINN whom he very firmly turns down RACHEL is a little incesure obviously when it comes to dating
RACHEL apologize to FINN with PARAMORE "the only exception" and makes us all feel warm and sniffly and not just because LEA MICHELE is a champion singer-crier but because its a PARAMORE song! THE ONLY EXCEPTION its not really an episode of GLEE unless RACHEL deliver a self aggrandizing closing performance, NOW IS IT! admittedly though LEA MICHELE killed it on this one and when FINN took her hand in the hallway GIRLS and GAYS everywhere were jealous lmao!
So it's just a perfect note to end a showny GLEE episode with a really sweet and emotional moment, bringing home the heart of what the show is about with a non-britney song! Even though "THE ONLY EXCEPTION" went along well with RACHEL BERRY character's storyline in the episode, I do think another britney track could have been place to round out the tribute episode.
"being great at something is going to change it. Being part of special makes you feel special right" -RACHEL BERRY (lea michele) "if your gonna put your faith in something then it better shape who you are and what people see you" -HAYLEY WILLIAMS (paramore)

PARAMORE "the only exception" ON GLEE
Friday, September 10, 2010
my story behind paramore "THE ONLY EXCEPTION"
my self review of PARAMORE single "THE ONLY EXCEPTION" ever since GLEE SPOILER comes that finchel a.k.a "FINN and RACHEL" of GLEE doing cover of this song in one of the upcoming episodes of GLEE SEASON 2 i cant help but wondering if finchel will give justice to this song or it might turn out to be not good as PARAMORE but i do trust of the talent of LEA MICHELE and CORY MONTIETH.. and i know its going to be awesome like the original
The 3rd single from the NO. 1 album "BRAND NEW EYES" "THE ONLY EXCEPTION" bring about a completely different feel to the bands previous two single taken from the album... Where the "IGNORANCE" and "BRING BY BORING BRICK" take a more rocky approach "THE ONLY EXCEPTION" is a deeply personal acoustic ballad with beautiful vocal from PARAMORE lead singer "HAYLEY WILLIAMS" The ballad gives an unapologetic glimpse into the inner working of what was happening in my head the song touches on how her parents relationship has influenced the way she deal with and think about love
"THE ONLY EXCEPTION" is a song of hope "ON THE VIDEO" at the beginning hayley's sworn off love and doesn't believe it exist! DAMN! those parental break-ups haha... But the frequent refrain is to the lover in the video that he's the exception to that rule.. The video features HAYLEY's walking to the various scenes her life including the clever speed dating where she dates all scenes from the video is rejected her and the letter on the bed hayley lies on she write "sorry" means she wouldn't believe in something existing..
Honestly is a tough word to live up to the field of moderm popular song, the every act of singing your feeling instead of expressing them in the way your body most naturally would.. Crying, laughing, shouting etc. It's a layer of self-consciousness, a bit like that scene in GLEE when FINN decides that the best way to tell QUINN's parents that they're about to become a grandparent is to sing a song about it, to them, at the dinner table, and yet on the surface, singing is all about expressing raw emotion..
HAYLEY WILLIAMS is getting better at this with every single PARAMORE release and its one of the most honest song sounding so far for me.. Everything about it rings is true from the bit of disillusionment of childhood when you realise your parents are just people too, to the bits about disillusionment of adulthood, when you realise that sometimes bad things happen to good people, And clearest and truest of all, the realization that people who are good for you are few and far between and you need to cherish those people and most of all ensure that they know about it..
Extra praise the arrangement of the video which allow HAYLEY to emote clearly and build up to a nice climatic power ballad ending... Its about as honest as music get, FRANKLY and as much is pretty damn near impossible to find fault with...
ITS A SOLID SINGLE

I'M A GLEEK (a gleek thing)
I'm a GLEEK if you dont know what that means, you've never tuned into the tv show GLEE... Every tuesday i wrestle the remote away from my brother to watch an hour of GLEE...I'm a GLEEK for so many reason, Is it because of its musically and its choice of song to record? Is it because of its actors that perfectly fit their roles? Is it because of its high school themes and choices of plots? NO! IT'S EVERYTHING... GLEE is all about expressing yourself, staying true to yourself and be able to love it GLEE also has excellent talented star who portray their character in a way you couldn't even think of anything better they also have awesome singing talents... Some of their song renditions have been well recieved by public SOMEBODY TO LOVE is an awesome queen cover that shows MERCEDES ability to reach that high note and knowing how difficult that song is, DON'T RAIN ON MY PARADE shows the awesomeness within RACHEL that would just remove you hatred towar her ambitious attitude, DEFYING GRAVITY shows KURT's high pitched tone, SWEET CAROLINE shows the swoony PUCK that would have you head over heels over him, JESSIE's GIRL shows FINN inner rockstar, TRUE COLORS shows the tenderness of TINA's voice, DANCING WITH MYSELF is a punked rock song turned acoustic hit by ARTIE, I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER shows off QUINN's retro voice, something 80's like... There are more songs that are truly be in awe of GLEE's rendition... What also love about GLEE is that the member of this club have some sort of unique bond within them, the character thrilled the show is highlighting family building option.... There's difinitely alot more inside GLEE searching for love that can never be, deception for our selfishness, hoping for acceptance and choosing the right decision in life...What we see in GLEE may perhaps be a reflection of what we are facing in our everyday lives.....I'M A GLEEK AND IM PROUD OF IT..!
